I've made and burned some DVDs with iDVD, and I'd like to make a number more of copies. So the first thing that comes to mind is making a disc image with Toast or with Disc Utility off of a burned DVD. The problem is that neither Toast or Disc Utility are able to make an image off of any of the DVDs I've already burned using iDVD. I've tried this on two different computers, and neither of us can get an image.
Any idea how to get an image off of these discs? I hate having to wait several hours for iDVD to re-render stuff every time I wish to burn a new DVD. I'd also like to have a copy for back-up reasons, so I can get rid of the 30 GIGs worth of video off my HD.
I'm using a 1.33 12in Powerbook G4 for the burning.
(Oddly the DVDs I've burned will work in the PCs I've tried, but not a 1.25 MD G4 Tower)

did you see the thread a while back on the files to download to make iDVD work with external burners? Well it also adds the capability to burn your project to a disk image instead of to DVD. From this it should be simple to burn multiple copies with Disk Utility and without rendering your project again.

Can someone point me towards that thread? I've been unable to locate it.

The downloadable files work in iDVD 3, and I'm using iDVD 4, which could be a problem (because it doesn't work). Any ideas on how to make a disc image off of iDVD 4, or something to that degree?

Wow thanks! I just made an image from my DVD, and I'm now trying to burn it using Toast 6. If this works I can then remove the 40 GIGs worth of project from my HD (thank goodness I went with the 80 GIG HD in my 12in!).

Yeah, let me know how it goes. If that one doesn't work, there are a ton of other DVD copying programs.
I just searched VersionTracker.com for "DVD" and DVD Imager was the first, free, program with good reviews, and it specifically mentioned iDVD. But, I'm sure there are others that should work fine as well. I've used Forty-Two to copy, successfully, my own commercial DVDs.
