The top right of my menu bar, where the clock etc is, keeps freezing. I don't have any third party stuff up there just Airport, Displays, Volume, Battery, Clock and FUS.
I only really notice it because the clock freezes, then when I move my cursor over any of the icons up there I get the beachball. Relaunching the finder doesn't work, so I have to log out or restart.
This happens about once every day on average.

Any ideas which crash log the information will be in? I tried looking in the Finder log but don't really know what I'm looking for. Maybe if someone can point me in the right direction I can post some of the contents of the log and get some more help.

I'm running OS 10.3.3 on a G3 800 iBook.

Do you have a "NTS" (Network Time Server) you are using?

And the log file you would want is located here:

~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/SystemUIServer.crash.log

Yeah I am using the Apple Europe (time.euro.apple.com) NTS.
I'll switch it off and see if that makes a difference. Thanks gorickey.

As for the log, there isn't one there, but I think I deleted it trying to fix the problem, so I'll wait until it appears again.

I was going to say it must be a 3rd party app, but then I saw you're not using any. Weatherpop was screwing mine up so I quit using it.

EDIT: one more to 1000 posts!
