so I finally moved to 10.3, and it's fine, great, but...
when I try to use software update, I always get a timeout message [-1001]. Never happened to me before. Can't see that there's a preference I've missed. Any ideas?

Hey Dr. D. Am in the same boat!!!
Only started happening with the lastest Garage Band update. Has been no problems at all and then all of a sudden on both my desktop and powerbook I get the same time out message. I thought it was a busy server at first but seems not....
I can download the update directly from the Apple site but that's not the same....
I have not changed anything on the Mac and only recently downloaded another lot of updates.
Any suggestions anyone???
