Look up the way to post images on the board. You can't use HTML.

Sorry these guys are giving you a hard time, and welcome to the Mac

Oh, you won't notice much of a difference. Don't worry about it. If you are worried about speed just upgrade the graphics card.

I'm on a 1GHz PowerBook G4 right now. You probably shouldn't feel too bad you don't have the 2GHz model now. When the next speed bump hits around the worldwide developer conference, you might feel burned a little.

Crap. I would kill to have even a 1.6 G5.

I'm still stuck at 500mhz (TiBook and Cube).

Anybody have a job for an unemployed computer programmer in Columbus, OH?

200Mhz that high up is a joke to be worried about, and the 20 inches from what I understand are nicer.

It's all psychological of course. Had you had been given a G5 and having no way to look inside the case to see how many processors there were, probing to see the cpu speed, or pulling down "About this Mac", you'd probably think it's a 2.0 ghz.

addendum: It's time to resume the road to 1000 posts.

Unless you're a professional Final Cut Pro/HD user, I seriously doubt the difference between a dual 1.8 and a dual 2.0 will be noticed.

Had the dual 1.8 been available when I bought my machine, I would have gotten it instead of the dual 2.0 - saved a few bucks for 95% of the performance.

As for 20" vs 23", it all depends... the 20" Cinemas I understand are brighter. Plus, there's a pretty big price differential. Personally, I'd say a dual 1.8GHz G5 and a 20" Cinema Display is pretty much a dream system for most people here.
