I tried searching for what I was looking for but came up with nothing. What I wanted to do was be able to maximize windows behind the dock while using safari. When I click the "+" widget on windows, the screen maxs out but never goes beyond the dock. I tried manually resizing the windows using the corner but I am not able to maximize past the dock. I know I can make the dock hide, making it possible to utilize the whole screen for maximizing... but i want to be able to see the dock at the front. I have seen and tried the different apps that offer kiosk modes but i do not want to loose the menu bar or the dock.

Is there some way to maximize windows behind the dock?

Thanks...

It works if you hide the Dock.

I know about hiding the dock... but I would prefer that it shows. I use the mail icon and some other icons as notifications for messages.

Then I don't know what to tell you except that it won't do what you want w/o hiding it. At least by design. Maybe someone else knows a trick.

There's a way to do it if you move it under the dock first. Resize it, then move it up. Just not all the way up to the menu bar.

why the hell do you want windows hidden behind the dock?

i don't see what possible good that could do

p.s. what i'd really like to see is the ability to drag a window up behind the menu bar.

PS: what I'd like is a rootless menu bar.
