If I have the same font installed (Arial, for example) in my System>Library>Fonts folder and in my User>Library>Fonts folder, which font does the system use? Is it safe to remove the other font? Also, is it safe to remove the foreign language fonts (asian, etc.) that are in these font folders? Thanks for any help.

some are ... some are not.

i think i removed my default helvetica to install the real adobe version. after that, in ichat, messages would appear in scambled chinese...it was a mess.

keep backups of the ones you delete or move.
