I just replaced my fiance's hard drive (in her Pismo G3 Powerbook) and used Carbon Copy Cloner to duplicate the disk image from my iBook onto it (OS 10.3.3). Everything seems to work properly in the Pismo (except for the lack of a startup chime, posted about separately in the powerbook forum), but there are a couple of minor issues I'd like to resolve.

First, the system is still looking for a bluetooth module and airport card (which are installed on the iBook but not in the Pismo) - it displays icons for each in the top-right corner. Any way to 'deinstall' the hardware or otherwise tell the system it doesn't exist?

Also, any way to change either the 'system name' (i.e. Joe Shmo's computer) or the 'short name' for the admin user? Both of these are stuck on the iBook's settings for now.

It's impossible to change the short user name without jumping through hoops.

Instead, kill two birds with one stone by creating a new admin account. Not only will that give you fresh preferences (which should fix the problems with oddball stuff left over from the iBook), but give you the username you want.

The computer name is in the Sharing pane of System Preferences.
