i wiped the hard drive, and installed 10.3 on my friend's G4; all went well, but after the install...both firewire drives did not show up.

checked system profiler; under firewire: "no information found".

after several restarts, (and a run with diskwarrior...) i finally got the drives back.

any reason this might have happened? is it better to install osx with peripherals disconnected??
