I like to put the application folder into the dock. When I wanted an application, I would right click on the app and the app would start up. For some ungodly reason, now when I right click on the folder it opens the finder and shows me the program - it doesn't start it anymore. How do I fix it?

I've had this happen before. Logging out and then back in fixed it for me.

That also will happen if you command-click or middle-click on an icon in the Dock.

Yes, it's annoying, but it happens sometimes.
