Well they need something for Mac World SF every year do they not? And they can't always introduce new PowerBooks and such can they? So my guess is With X.5 taking more than a year to come out, (anyone think that it might be more than a year because they want the .5 update to be supa huge?) my guess is that what they would have normally thrown in as an OS X feature will now become an iLIfe feature, perhaps they'll also finally start doing something with .mac... haha riiight.
Actually I could kind of see them merging .mac and iLife, or at least you know saying, buy iLife get .mac half price or something like that. I seriously think if they did drop the price of .mac and made it a better value it'd sell like hot cakes.

So what's the opinion of the forums? Will Apple simply start getting a bit less jumpy with OS X, and nothing else, or will iLife take it's place as the thing to buy every year? Actually I think it's kind of a good thing, since they started charging for the iLife apps (which I have no prob with since they're all worth the cash) I was getting a bit worried that Apple would be expecting us to pay almost 200 USD every year, which would be a huge Mac tax.

Why ?

They could alternate.
OS X and iLife updates, each every 18 months, so you'd see a major update of either one every 9 months.
Tons a options here...
