I recently got a new 12" PowerBook G4 and got rid of my Dell (it was a part of school). I successfully transfered everything over but am wondering how to make my Favorites folder from IE and turn them into a bookmarks file to be used by Safari or Firefox, or even IE. Maybe this is simple and I have missed it along the line. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Import them favorites in Mozilla. Then copy the file bookmarks.html in your Mozilla Profile folder to the Mac. Import these bookmarks in Firefox. I don't know if you can import them in Safari, too, but it probably will work.
Scarcely pausing for breath, Vroomfondel shouted, "We DON'T demand solid facts! What we demand is the total ABSENCE of solid facts. I demand that I may or may not be Vroomfondel!"

Kind of on the same vain:

- I can sync all of my Safari bookmarks across my Macs.
- I can sync all of my IE favorites across my Windows boxes (via www.favoritesync.com)

Does anyone know any way that I can sync my Safari bookmarks and my Windows favorites? (So that all of my machines have a universal set of bookmarks?)

AFAIK this is not possible!

.Mac

Doesn't synch the two, but instead of using your Favourites on Windows, you can simply use the .Mac Bookmarks instead which you can synch back to your Mac if you alter them on your Windows machine.

I tried that, but it became kind of a pain to have to keep the separate window open that I can't drag/drop links into.

It *IS* an option, but not sure if it's the one for me.

Since Moz on Windows can import IE favourites (don't know if it can on the Mac, and I'm not too sure if it can on Windows...) and the bookmarks are in the same format for Moz on both the Mac and PC, you could import the favourites into Moz, and copy the Moz bookmarks across to your Mac. Put them in ~/Library/Mozilla/Profiles/default/randomstring.slt/bookmarks.html.
Then run this script to get them into Safari.

It's a bit long-winded, but I imagine it should work.
Just who are Britain? What do they? Who is them? And why?

Apple publishes some howto docs for getting data from a PC to the Mac: http://www.apple.com/switch/howto/ Might be helpful.
