I was wondering where the system profile for my computer was stored. I'm referring to the information that comes up when you click "about this mac". Is the information stored somewhere in the system library? I was just browsing throught he system folder and found everything else that I was curious about.

Thanks.

The part that says "Version 10.3.4" and "Build 7H63" or whatever comes from /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist.

The Processor, Memory, and serial number are stored, well, on your computer's main logic board. That info is collected and formatted at runtime.

If you want to keep a record of it, you can simply save the profile from within Apple System Profiler (the app that launches when you choose More Info... in About this Mac). Go to File>Save As or Export> when you have it launched.
