I have a Duel 1.8 G5 with 1 gig Ram. When I installed this update my system would not boot up. It would stop and turn on the fans. I ran hardware test and disk utility and they said everything was O.K. I even zapped the PRAM. The G5 would still only turn on the fans and stop. I could only come up in safe mode.

Out of desperation I called Apple. They had me do everything I already described. This time the G5 booted up. So in my case I basically had to zap the PRAM twice to get the G5 to boot.

I have lost my modem. It says it is not connected. I have also lost my sound system. My Wacom tablet also will not work.

Since I do a lot of video and photo editing I need both the sound and wacom tablet, so I have gone back to 10.3.3.

Similar problem here on my MDD 1.25_GHz. I started iTunes while the Updater wrote the new files, which suddenly sounded like a broken CD (the same short burst of music repeating every second), and crashed the machine.

After reboot, the startup screen didn't change for half an hour. PRAM zap didn't help either, so I reinstalled 10.3 and re-updated to 10.3.4.

I love OS X! A full crash causes only one hour to reinstall and re-update the full system! Try that on Windows...
