With the update it now spins down my Maxtor External Firewire HD when I shut off my MDD G4. Before this update, the drive would spin and I would have to un-plug it. Only during Sleep would it spin down. Its was like this since Firewire came out on the B&W G3.

I've got a 40 GB Maxtor FW HD (no power switch model) and I can't really remember what happens when I shut down. Sounds good though.
