Ok, here is the problem. Every time I turn on my disk utility, it sais "gathering disk information...". The problem is that this never goes away, and in the end, i just get sick of it. and i cant even close it, i have to force quit the application. seems something is wrong with it. I already tried trashing the preferences, but it did not work. thanks for the help......
