I was wondering if a Shell script could basically do the same as the App Little Snitch (http://www.obdev.at/products/littles...docu/docu.html)

Uhm. No.

Little Snitch has to intercept outgoing network traffic in the kernel. A shell script is completely different.

Guess it could be used to discover outgoing packets if you were a masochist

Little Snitch is like, "Halt, <program> trying to access <domain>! You must await clearance for transaction!"

Why do you ask ?

What are you trying to achieve with the script ?
Why not use LittleSnitch ?
