I just discovered today that if you click for a menu and then roll your scroll wheel, it will automatically cycle through all the items on it. That is, you can essentially navigate each menu with the scroll wheel. (also works for contextual menus)

I was just wondering if this is new(as in new knowledge, not a new feature)...

It sounds great but does not work for me. I have an i-opti jr by macally with software installed. Tried it in Finder, Explorer and InDesign, no luck. Am running Jaguar 2.6. Are you on Panther?
I would love to get this to work!

EDIT I got it you have to double click and then scroll. I also have to keep my optical mouse totally imobile, if not it competes with the scroll wheel.

Thanks very much, this may be known by others, but was not by me, and it made my day

It is possible to scroll (the selection) through the menu, but that's a rather useless feature since there appears to be no way to then click the selected command (with the mouse - return key works but thats kind of beyond the point of using the scroll wheel).
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.
