Flashing Globe Icon at startup ??

my iBook shows a flasing Globe Icon (bezel?) when it is starting up and I don't know what it means.

It also shows the System Folder/Question Mark icon like it can't find the OS, but after a few seconds it begins to boot into OS X (10.3.3)

My iBook will also not be able to connect to the internet, even though the airport reception is fine and other laptops are working on the same network.


I know that reinstalling the OS is a perfect solution, but I am hoping there is a much easier one.

Make sure your "Startup Disk" is selected under System Preferences correctly and not some "NetBoot/Network" drive...

I'm having trouble remembering what it's like to restart.

What gorickey said should correct it.
