I have a drive I think might be failing, and I'd like to see to SMART status for it. I know you can get this from the command line in 10.3, but does anyone know how to see the SMART status in 10.2?

I can't recall if Disk Utility has that capability in 10.2 or not. Have you tried opening DU and doing a 'Get Info' on the drive?

No. 3rd party software (e.g. DiskWarrior) can check it. 10.3 is the first Mac OS to bring its own SMART checking.
