Security upd 2004-06-07
OSX 10.3.4
Eudora 6.1.1 (and 6.1)
1&1 DSL Provider

Since installing the latest security update, I'm no longer able to use the 1&1
SMTP relay personality with authentication to send mail with an external return address. (my university email address).

The message from 1&1 is:
I said: DATA
And then the SMTP server said: 451rejected: temporarly sender address
<my address> (try later).

But things haven't returned to normal in 2 days.
Cheers, Hans M. Aus, Würzburg,

I was having this problem as well. Could not reply to emails using RoadRunner. I would get a message telling me to try another server. (I have 3 mail accounts.) The message would go into the drafts bin. I also had the same issue if I clicked on an email url on a web page.

When I created a new message and sent it, this would also then send the one in the draft bin. Similar issues on both computers on my home network.

I did a lot of fixing permissions, quitting and starting mail, restarting, etc. I changed servers for accounts in the mail accounts and then switched back to the original server. I also shut down my laptop for a night. Don't know what did it but I don't have the problem now.

Just checked permissions - no improvement.

Then I shut down my iBook and after an hour turned it on again.

Things work fine again. Don't know why but I hope it continues to function.
