I have a annoying problem with Internet Connect, 'Connect Time' displays 00:00:00 (in the Internet Connect applicatiuon and the menubar) for all the time I am connected (PPP with Apple Internal Modem). As well as that, when I am connecting the 'Status' says 'Authenticating User', as normal but then it says 'disconnecting' for about half a second, and then 'Authenticating User' again, and then the connection is established. I don't know what has caused it.

I have tried trashing internet connect preferences, repairing permissions but to no avail. I am on 10.2.6.

If the connection is successfully established, is it really a significant issue? If you're having connection problems, then verify your user name and password are correct and see if you can use a different dial-up number. (I assume this is dial-up we're talking about.) If all else fails, call your ISP. You may not want to tell them you're on a Mac, though, because you may run into a clueless plebeian.

No, it isn't really that significant, the connection is established but this problem is annoying and random, as the connection time monitor was working earlier this week and then suddenly for no apparant reason, every time I connect, connection time says '00:00:00' for all the time I am connected. I've tried other numbers, but I think it must be something to do with Internet Connect, not the connection or my ISP. I tried searching to see if their were any threads about his before, but it looks like no-one has had this before.
