i was workign fine on my computer.
then i right clicked a folder on my desktop which happened to be an iMovie folder that i'd been working on for quite some time. next thing i know it literally disappeared. doing a search couldnt find it either, (i even turned the visibility options to all files)

then i right clicked another folder and same thing it just disappeared. the wierd thing is my hard drive doesn't have more space and the iMovie project was about 5 gigs. so where did it go?

and now if i right click on my desktop to create a new folder it says i don't have enough access privelages....

please help!

Try to boot from the original CD and run repair permissions from Disk Utility. I'm not sure if that does user permissions. It's a start.
