You defiantly can share over AirPort.

Open the Sharing preference pane on the computer you are connecting to. Make sure "Personal File Sharing" is checked. Then, in the Finder, hit Command-Shift-K, double-click on the computer, and type the username/password.

If you're using internet sharing to provide a network connection from one airport-equipped computer to the next, you'll only be able to file-share with that one computer. I'm sure this is not an issue with wireless routers or airport base stations.

File-sharing apps don't know what kind of network they're on; this is by design. AirPort doesn't impose any kind of limitations, as far as that goes.

However, many AirPort networks use a thing called NAT (Network Address Translation). NAT is a very popular (but very bad) hack designed to shoehorn several computers into one IP address; it's pretty common in homes using broadband nowadays. NAT can interfere with some forms of file sharing, though usually this can be worked around.

What type of filesharing software are you interested in trying? Do you know if you use NAT?
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!
