After waking my PowerBook from sleep, the the stripped background for the menubar and the translucent background for the Dock were patterns of weird colors like green and pink. But, the computer was still responsive, and after using the Dock and menubar a bit, these colors "refreshed" and the regular backgrounds were back. This has never happened to me before. Has this happened to you? Could this be component (video card) failure, or system file corruption? Or could this have been a freak incident?

did you open any windows, and see if the problem was there as well?

my powerbook does this sometimes (a horrific green highlight to everything).
it would seem to be the connection from the bottom of the pb to the screen; when i move the top back & forth, i can make it go away.

if it happens again, play with the top & see if that's it.

(for me, a needed trip to tekserve *sigh*)

i had windows open, but it was only on the dock and menubar, to which it seemed that it was localized there.

it went away with a few mouse clicks. could it be the connection to the screen, because faulty connections affect broader screen areas, not just specific screen elements?
