My old PB 550 is slowing down.
When I open the Console in console.log I get one long list of messages saying:
SCSIAction:unimplemented and it just keeps saying it every second.
Anyone knows why?
And does it have anything to do with my PB slowing down?
Or is it just too old so I better take it out behind the barn and shoot it

I doubt that a PowerBook 550 can run OS X. What system version are you running?

I would try to figure out what is doing that and disable it. Maybe a scanner driver or similar.

I think you have a PowerBook G4. A PowerBook 550 is from 1995 and was released in Japan only.

Wow. If you got OS X to run on a 33 MHz 68040 processor, hats off to you. (Or maybe hats off to the maker of XPostFacto?)

Thank you for all the sarcastic remarks
I have a PB G4 /550mhz. That is to me an old PB.
Now would any of you know what causes the console.log to write SCSIAction:inimplemented all the time?

It looks like this in the console.log.

I think that nobody said means that nobody knows. Which system version are you running? Does it happen for other users as well or only you?
Do you have anything that might be trying to access SCSI? Scanner driver or something? Anything odd in log-in items?

Open Activity Monitor and kill process for process until it goes away. Once you know what it is turn it off.

Thank you.
Turned out to be HP scanner monitor.
BTW I am running 10.3.4 with 768RAM
Only 20GB disk. Whenever I get under 8 gb left it seems to slow down.
Maybe too many scratchdisks. I run mostly PSCS, PhotoMechanic, Capture 1,Safari ,Entourage and Shrook.
Would it help to set up the scratchdisk to my external diskdrive?

I said "maybe scanner driver" in my first reply already. Why did I have to say that twice?

An external hard disk should be faster than the internal notebook hard disk. If you set it as primary Photoshop scratch disk this could speed it up a little bit probably.
