This will be a LONG post since it will contain some crash logs. I'm hoping someone can interpret the logs and give me some insight into what is going on with my machine. Here goes ....

Situation
Last week my iBook started flaking out. Again. The screen would randomly get distorted or just blank out. Attempts to reboot often failed. I'd seen this before about a year ago and recognized it as the infamous defective logic board problem rearing its ugly head again. When I was finally able to boot the machine I removed all private info from the machine and immediately took it to the Apple Store. I told them I had had the logic board replaced before but he said that at that time they were just replacing them with the same board (that still had the defect) and now with the new program they were using an upgraded board. Long story short, Apple upgraded my logic board and tossed in a faster combo drive while they were at it. I got my machine back on Monday and those problems were gone.
Unfortunately, the trouble that I need help with started on Tuesday. I went to lunch and when I came back the screen was just blank and I couldn't get it back. My display normally turns off after 15 minutes of inactivity so the fact that it was blank was not a surprise. However, no amount of keyboard or mouse activity would bring it back. I even tried to bring up the Force Quit dialog to no avail. Eventually I had to reboot the machine. Later on that afternoon Safari and iCal would crash randomly. Eventually, after one of these application crashes, my whole machine just froze except for the mouse. Had to reboot again. Wednesday was more of the same random application crashes ... usually Safari and iCal. I read somewhere about the value of repairing permissions, so I did that. I noticed that a lot of changes were made to Safari and but since it was going to take a while I didn't stick around and wait. I went to lunch with it running and when I got back the screen was "stuck" with a non-moving screen saver. Reboot again. Since I didn't know if the Repair Permissions process had finished I did it again. It completed successfully and only had one log entry about some system folder needing "special" privileges. Don't remember the exact wording. Over the rest of the afternoon I noticed additional app crashes but fortunately no full system freezes. Wednesday evening I tried an experiment. Since I had been getting crashes in apps that were just idling in the background, I wanted to see what would happen if the machine was just on and not being used at all. In my Energy Saver preference, I turned off the option to put the display to sleep and then just let the machine sit. The screensaver was the only thing running. I popped in my latest Netflix rental and forgot about the machine for a few hours. When the movie was done the system hadn't froze, but apparently several apps had crashed. I did a search for "crash" in the finder and sorted the results by modification date. It looks like the WindowServer crashed, then iCal, and then the ScreenSaverEngine. I made copies of the crash logs and listed them below. I then turned the display sleep preference back on and decided to let the system just idle overnight. When I got up in the morning iCal and MSN Messenger had crashed, but at least the system hadn't completely frozen.
Can anyone take a look at the crash logs below and give me some insight into what is going on? All of this started after my iBook got the new logic board. Fortunately, I haven't gotten a kernel panic like I used to when the logic board was failing the first time. Is this a hardware issue or software related? Can I do some sort of maintenance on the machine to get it running smoothly again?
