I apologize if this has been covered in another thread that I missed, but I'm wondering what happened to the rumored third party Software Update expansion? If you don't know what I'm talking about, the rumor was that third party developers would be able to distribute their updates through Software Update, just as Apple distributes its updates currently.

Who knows...maybe it's part of the other 140+ features. Did you expect Steve to show all 150+ features? Some of the features are probably not added yet either and will be in the next 6-12 months. And I don't think Apple wanted to show everything to Microsoft.

It might be cooming in Tiger. All we have seen so far is a few of the main new features. Tiger could be up to 12 months away to be in the "first half of '05", and in that time a lot will change (i.e. the graphics of the widgets )
I free'd my mind... now it won't come back.
