When I connect via PPTP, is there a way to stay connected to the Internet? I know it is closed by default. It's probably safer that way, but I have someone that wants to check email at the same time.
There have been posts on this at www.macosxhints.com, involving 'split-routing'. Basically, the computer can route requests to the vpn through the vpn, and internet requests outside of the VPN. It requires manual configuration, and it doesn't seem straightforward at all.
I would search around that site for help with that if you're interested. I got tired of trying to figure it out quickly, and I just turn the vpn on and off as needed between internet usage - seemed easier in the long run....
