How do I increase the scroll speed on a third party logitech USB mouse? I tried increasing the speed in System PReferences but it didn't do anything.
How do I see how much ram I'm using, etc.?
How do I remove items from my dock? I see no reason for iDVD to constantly be at the bottom of my screen.
Answers to these and maybe a link to a newbie FAQ or something would be apprecaited.
Thanks in advance guys - this community is great

>>Get logitech's drivers<<
How do I see how much ram I'm using, etc.?
>>Open Terminal.app, type "top" (no qoutes) and push enter. The resulting output will show all running processes and applications and their ram usage, among other things.....
How do I remove items from my dock? I see no reason for iDVD to constantly be at the bottom of my screen.
>>clik on the icon, hold the mouse button down, and drag the icon out of the dock and onto the desktop......POOF it's gone

Are you seeing the scroll speed setting? Or just the mouse speed? Have you tried the Logitech software instead?
How do I see how much ram I'm using, etc.?
Activity Monitor (in Applications/Utilites/) tells you RAM usage. Bear in mind that the most important numbers are the "wired" and "active" numbers -- add "free" and "inactive" to
get the closest thing to OS 9's free RAM measure.

Drag the icon off the dock.

Oh, one more:
I have two bit torrents running - can I have them download overnight while the mac is in sleep mode? Or is downloading while in sleep not possible?

Nothing is possible in sleep mode.....except perhaps a system crash. If you want your downloads to keep going AND want to save energy, just dim your screen.

Your mac can't do anything while sleeping. Sleeping spins down the Hard DIsk (turns it off) and stops all peripheral and network communications.

OH! I forgot my most important question!
Should I update my AirPort software to 3.4.1? I read horror stories about AirPort completely dying after installing this update on the powerbook forums and was wondering if this is a wise idea or not.

Using dual displays depends on the kind of Mac you have.
There is nothing dangerous about leaving a computer on all night.
The big complaints were with Airport Extreme 3.4, I believe. 3.4.1 addressed them. My girlfriend and I have been running 3.4.1 since it came out with no problems.
