It gets a hazy yellow or hazy blue coloring over the whole thing! has any one else heard anything like this? the only way to get it to leave is either put to sleep and wake up again or shut down all together!

Latest version ofPanther 17 inch flat panel Imac.

Sounds like the video controller / logic board is about to bite the dust. Call Apple and have it repaired.
