This what happens when I try to boot from the OS X 10.3 install cd:

panic: (CPU 0 29a9db): unable to find driver for this platform: "PowerMac 3,5"

I can't boot from any cd, and now some cds/dvds will not even mount.
I don't know what to do to get my superdrive to boot my 10.3 cd so I can install it on another hard drive!!
I have Quicksilver 867 with 1.5 gb ram... superdrive.
Apple system profiler says that my boot rom is 4.2.3f1 (if it has to do anything with it)
I'm desperate... anyone can help????

Try to disconnect any non Apple device and see if it helps.
You may want to try to reset the nvram (press command-option-P-R) during boot.

I think you use Command-Option-N-V to reset the NVRAM. Command-Option-P-R is for the PRAM.

If you try resetting the PRAM, hold down those keys until you hear the startup chime three times.

Still no luck guys...
I disconnected any usb devices or cards from the computer.
Already tryed command-option P R... stil no go.
Not sure what command-option N V is supposed to do,
but when I tryed it, this is what I got:

(part of the message)

BSD Root: disk 4s1s9
major 14 minor 27

and then it kept repeating the same lines over and over agin:

sam multimedia: read or write failed ASC = 11, ASCQ = 0X06
disk 4s1s9
I/O error

So... I guess that means something is wrong with the drive?? the machine??

Thanks for anyone that helps!!
