I came across what looks like a Linux command line tool (recoverdm) that is supposed to copy a volume and either remove or skip bad blocks (if you have a DVD or CD that you can't read in the finder for example). I would like to know if anyone has any info on this or could help me install/run it on mac os X.3.4. I have tried "dd" in the terminal but it won't skip the bad blocks on the DVD I burned. It sucessefully made a disc image but terminal gives me a message about the bad blocks. Here is a link to the author's web site:

I have e-mailed the author but am not getting any response. Thanks ahead of time for any help!
