Do all .dmg files fail to mount, or is it just this particular .dmg file? If you try to mount some other .dmg file, what happens?

Have you tried more than once? An Adium dmg once wouldn't mount for me, but the second time, it worked.

Have you tried using alternate programs to open the DMG? and is this with all DMG or just a particular one?

Toast possibly

Stuff-it

I remeber having a few files that only opened correctly using one of the other programs.

Have you tried redownloading the .dmg file? Perhaps it didn't download properly the first time.

So, to clarify: this is with all DMGs, not just with one particular DMG?

Okay, what happens if you try to mount a dmg using the 'hdiutil attach' command line tool?
