Soon I will be moving to a sexy 12" PB....I was wondering how to keep my bookmarks settings and crap like that, and pass it onto the new PB? Should I just replace the home forlder with my existing one? What else do I need to replace?

Thanks.

PS I did a search but found nothing on this topic.

Depending on what you want to keep, you just have to move the files from your existing computer to their corresponding places on the new one. In your Home/Library folder, you may want to keep the Mail & Safari folders, for example. You can move the Home/Pictures and Home/Music folders to keep your iTunes and iPhoto libraries, and so forth. It all depends on what you have and what you want to keep. Just go through the Library, Home/Library, and Home folders and you should find everything you'll need.
If you're having trouble finding any specific files, post here and I'm sure someone can help.

If you want to be sure, just copy your entire home directory across. That way you'll have everything (even the same desktop picture and dock icons). It'll be like using the same computer.

That will probably copy across a few old preference files that you no longer need, but such files are generally small, and not worth worrying about. You can always go through your preferences folder and other Library folders later and remove unnecessary stuff.

Don't forget to copy across any applications that don't come bundled with the new Mac.

Well, the new Power Macs do this. "Auto migration" is a feature in 10.3.5. You just boot the old system in firewire target disk mode and use the migration wizard when you start the machine up.

So, I'd say, if you buy your new machine when 10.3.5 ships on it (hey, probably a month or so), this would be trivially easy
