Hi. I have a big problem volume mounting problem.

The symptoms : when I try to mount a volume (from LAN or from CD/DVD or from .dmg) sometime the volume correctly appears on my desktop, and sometime not.

If it doesn't appear, I can access it from the "open/Volume/" command.
But in this way, I can only access aliases of the volumes, so, for exemple, I can not eject them.

I try to reinstall the OSX 10.3.4, but the problem lasts.
Precision : I have a G5 2x2 Go.

If you can help me, it would be very very fine.

Thanks.

it's not the Finder preferences for mount/don't mount certain disks on the desktop.

That guy said that he can't access them from /Volumes, though.
