Hi All,
I just wanted to look up Mac Help but just got a blank screen and search finds nothing.
The CPU is at 100% and the console.log gets stuffed with entries like below ...

2004-07-18 12:51:00.102 Help Viewer[388] Catching VTWIN exception. Ignoring.
2004-07-18 12:51:00.102 Help Viewer[388] SearchController - doSearchForAnchor - ::SearchPaths are empty

... endlessly.

I did a "repair permissions" but that didn't change anything.

Any ideas how to fix that?

Thanks a lot, Michael.

ok, I fixed that:

from http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/helpviewer.html :

Corrupted Help Viewer cache folder

If trashing the preferences files for Help Viewer does not resolve the problem, trash its cache folder using the following procedure.

(1) Open your Home > Library > Caches folder.
(2) Trash the com.apple.helpui folder.
(3) Empty the Trash.

Although it doesn't mention the problems I had I supected a corrupted cache folder - and indeed it helped! ;-)

Michael.
