10.4 has come and gone, and now we have 10.5 to look forward to. First of all, what is the codename? And what features can we hope to have in 10.5? I heard that it will have safari integrated into the finder, sort of like windows 98, and the apple button will have new functionality that will make it more like the dock, ie, you will be able to drag icons into it and launch recently used programs straight from the menu. Also, you will be able to minimize directly into the menubar, meaning that there will be no more dock. the menu options like file, edit, etc will be placed underneath the titlebar in individual application windows. the title bar will also be much thicker, utilizing a hard plastic look seen in tiger. did i mention safari will also be "hard plastic," rather than brushed metal?
the apple button on the keyboard will gain functionality, at last, by launching the apple menu.
and finally, what every mac-head has been waiting for, the elusive 2-button mouse will be standard in 10.5
