How do I get rid of 10.3.5 and revert back to an earlier version? I'm getting Kernel panics every 10 minutes, forcing me to reboot my system. This is probably the most unstable piece of crap update I've seen Apple make yet. Pleeeease help me. This is exclusive to 10.3.5 and something that only began happening once I updated.

Can anyone please help me?

Do an archive & install, and reinstall OS X and 10.3.5 update. It should fix the issue.

Remember ....

Before & After any software update .. Repair permissions: Close all files and applications on the disk you want to repair. Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility and double click it. Then select your hard drive in the left panel and First Aid at the top. Then click on "Repair Permissions." It will take a few minutes.

I just installed 10.3.5 today, as a matter of fact. But I'm hearing a lot of people saying they are experiencing problems with it already. I ran into a slight problem today, but I wasnt sure if it had anything to do with the new OS. When I opened classic mode, the computer froze.

After all, 10.3.5 is brand new, and we just happen to be some of the first people to have it. I am quite worried now. Do you think I should just reinstall 10.3.4? Would I be safer?

Thanks.

When you say archive and reinstall, are you implying NUKING the system?
Restore the G5 and start fresh?

Nope. There's an option called "Archive and Install" in the OS X installer. It puts your old system files in a folder called Previous System Folders and puts a fresh system on your drive. However, your applications, your user folder, your preferences, etc. all are preserved, so you really won't notice the difference much (except that it won't be crashing anymore!).

This seems to happen with every update to any random number of people.

i had problems too. i did the regular update first and had regular hard freezes and kernel panics especially when using adobe softs, subethaedit or dvd player. i cleaned the system/user caches, fscked, ran cron jobs, repaired permissions and finally applied the combo installer. at first i still was having troubles, but now for some reason everything seems to work fine again (which is kinda weird as i havenīt done anything trying to fix it since then, but i appreciate it of course).
