Is it possible to partition a RAID 0 set? I just set up striping on my two new HDDs in my G5 but can't seem to figure out how to partition the new combined 135 gb drive. I want to be able to have a system partition and another one just to store files on.

I don't know if you even can parition a RAID set. But search the forums for "partition" and you'll find lots of discussion about whether partitioning is a good idea. My opinion--lots of pain, no benefit.

I would probably not partition the RAID as you are just limiting yourself to space in the long run...

thanks guys, I've searched and searched and came up with nothing. The thing is I am very anal when it comes to keeping my computer neat and clean. As a long time user of a PC, I would always restore a PC from an image every couple of weeks and kind of want to do the same with my G5 without having to move all my work related things else where. I guess it may be time to get a firewire drive but 130gbs for system storage is way too much!
