For some reason, Print Center.app alias has become visible. Is there any way to make it invisible again on my machine? When I try to set the invisibility bit using SetFile, an unexpected error -5000. Any help is appreciated.

Huh? Print Center.app alias? Where? What folder is it in?

What version of OS X are you running?

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

If it's just an alias, why not delete it instead of making invisible? Sounds like you are running Panther, which has a default Print Center.app alias in the "Utilities" folder that is set to launch Printer Setup Utility is all...you don't need it...

I agree with gorickey. Just delete it.

Well, from what I can tell online, the alias was created to preserve compatibility with certain print drivers. If I delete it, will it effect my HP LaserJet 1012?
