All of my menu extras (e.g., time, volume, user menu bar items) keep resetting when I log out or restart. One actually does stay - WeatherPop (but it I think runs an app when I start the computer). I have Application Enhancer installed and that seemed to start the problem. However, uninstalling it does not fix the problem. Every now and then when I re-instate all of the menus they will stick for about two weeks and then suddenly disappear again.

Anyone have any ideas? Anybody know where the preference file is that saves info about which menus to start at login? Also, I once found where the apps for each menu bar was but haven't been able to find them lately. Anybody know that directory? At least then I could add them to my startup items and they would load that way (hopefully).

Thanks for any help provided.

A long-shot guess...Maybe Menu Extra Enabler will help: http://www.unsanity.com/products/free

It's been a few months since I have used it, but when I did, it worked as advertised.

you sure this isn't a permissions kinda thing? these are the stock menu extras too, not third party apps like menumeters or weatherpop.

there might be a finder.plist in your home library or something. i dunno.
