i like to do a lot of cutting and pasting from AIM, word, the web, etc

it annoys the hell out of me that things ALWAYS paste with the formatting

is there any way to paste plain text without pasting it in to subethaedit and then copying again?

Good question. I select and drag text to Stickies and then export the whole shebang as plain text. Not elegant but it works.

Yeah, it's called "Paste with current style" (as in whatever style you are using in the target) and the hotkey is <command><option><shift>-V
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.

Where does this command show, in which application? I think I know where the keys are located

I know where paste style is in Stickies, but it doesn't use that key sequence.

TextEdit.app and Mail.app for sure.

Doesn't seem to work for iShat A/V though.

Not sure about iDVD, iPhoto, and iMovie, because I have never tried it.

Doh ! I must learn to open my eyes and observe the world (or at least my computer) around me better. I never noticed these commands before. Probably cause I never use the menus much in either app.
