I've been trying to set times for sleep and wakeup in Energy Saver (using 10.3.5) but it seems to be hit or miss...so far, both sleep and wakeup function correctly about 50% of the time. Amy suggestions for getting this to work reliably?

Edit: the scheduled sleep time isn't critical, as I can do that by other means, but the wakeup time is.

Something changed somewhere to start causing this function grief. It worked well up until 10.3.4 or so. I know that mine quit working entirely until I went in and turned off the settings, rebooted and turned them back on. Also the restart after power failure quite working at the same time.

I think that file-sharing may have something to do with it as well, in my case. It seems that sometimes when using my PowerBook and accessing files on my dual 867, and then subsequently putting the PB to sleep has caused it to sometimes not go to sleep or wake up properly.

I was wondering about just the same thing this am. Mac did not shut down last night and I didn't see anything in the console that suggested it even tried? But console did report that wake &/or startup was attempted. Maybe its only the shutdown thats problematic??

No, I've had problems with both. There doesn't seem to be a pattern, AFAIK.

Mine didn't go to sleep last night and I ensured there were no AFP connections. iTunes and iPhoto sharing was turned off. iChat and Mail were the only thing running.

I found it still running at 3am, so I put it to sleep. It did wake up at its scheduled time however. The night before, it alerted me that it was scheduled to sleep and I dismissed the alert and continued working.

I just did the combo 10.3.5 updater after the usual permissions repair and such.
