I am currently downloading a big deal of data via Bittorrent (I can't wait 'til 24 Season 3 is released here and I will buy the DVDs. Just for the record).

Bittorrent tells me it is uploading at about 10 KB/sec. But menumeters and activity monitor show at least 23-30 KB upload, however, I only have a dsl line with 768 down/128 up.

Can anyone recommend any tools or command line tools that make transparent whats being sent from my computer? I'm not too geeky with unix, so a short advice how to use the commands would be very helpful.

Along these lines, does Net Monitor (or some other app) tell you *who* (ip or dns) is connecting to your computer?

Just curious if you (or anybody) knew a way to get this information either from an app, or from the terminal.

Running top -d in the Terminal will show network input and output. If you want to get into real packet analysis and all that, you should install Ethereal. The only way I know of to get it is via fink.
