Well, let me explain all you great brains...

When I try to open a finder window from the dock (clicking on the finder icon) It will pull up the finder, I try to close it and the finder restarts. The menu top bar goes away and reloads, the arrow under the dock icon for the finder goes away and then shows back up.

I can't close the window at all ater it is open for the first time.

Thanks for any help!
BTW, I've tried diskwarrior and also did an Archive and Install and it did not fix it.

Does this happen to other users on the machine? Or just you?

Try deleting the preferences for the finder if possible.

Do you get a "Send report to Apple" dialog? If so, post its contents here.

on the subject, check the console and system logs to see if there's any output. it might give a hint as to what's happening.
