Suddenly I can no longer access the Desktop & Screen Saver preference in System Preferences. When I click on it, the Desktop & Screen Saver opens for maybe a half a second and then quits (with an error alert sound), it forces System Preferences to quit as well.

I had the top right corner of my PowerBook's screen set as a hotspot for the screen saver to come on. That's how I noticed there was a problem. When I put the cursor on the hotspot, the screen goes dark as if the screen saver is about to start, but it quickly stops and gives me an error alert sound. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot it? Thank you.

(I'm on a 15" TiBook running OS 10.3.5)

Could be corrupt preferences for the screen saver module or could be a corrupt screen saver file. That's a few places to start.

Sweet!

It's good to know that at least *some* of my advice is good!
