Hello all,

Trying to get an ASR OS X image working here, followed all the man asr instructions to the letter. The final step, asr -imagescan /path/to/image.dmg gives me 3 errors and then hangs:

open failed: Operation not supported
asr: could not checksum .com.symantec.APSock
open failed: Operation not supported
asr: could not checksum mDNSResponder
open failed: Operation not supported
asr: could not checksum pppconfd

Then the cursor just sits there. I let it run all weekend, ~72 hours, with no luck. I have no idea how to proceed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Command line ASR? Sounds more complicated than it should be. Have you tried Carbon Copy Cloner?

Interestingly enough, CCC produced a perfect, scanned image with no problems. I am left to wonder what exactly CCC did that I didn't do on the CLI?

Mike Bombich is the man. That's all the excuse I need I'm glad it's working for you now.
