I have an emac with 10.1.5. I had shut down my emac and disconnected power from it for about a week. On start-up, the date and time were completely off (the date was October 20, 1934). I shut it down and the date and time were still off only the year was 1969. I have reset the time manually and using the network to set the time but, if I shut down it just goes back in time. The last time I used the network to set date and time it couldn't connect to that.
Thanks!

There's a battery on the logic board which keeps power to the clock when the machine is powered down. The battery lasts 4-5 years. Sounds like yours has given up the ghost... you need to replace it.

That makes sense. Would you happen to know if I would be able to do that myself or, would my warranty cover replacement? I've had this mac for 2 years.

Looks like it's pretty easy, and you should be able to do it yourself.

I went to "support.apple.com" and searched for "replace eMac battery" and got the following KB article:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=34885

Good luck
