Hi,

I was messing with Font Book and Suitcase trying to find a good font management solution, but both keep crashing. On the last crash, it left the system without any fonts.

Do you know how I can get the original fonts of the OS X cd installed? Maybe Pasifist?

Thanks!

How can the system display any words or text without a font?

Exactly! I can't use the Mac because of that! Anyways, I used Pacfist and it worked great!

Hmmm... no fonts at all, so you obviously had to type in the blind?

I was going to suggest using Pacifist (sic), as I had good results with it in font-related problem situations. I've switched to FontAgent Pro after several mysterious font problems, and never had any trouble since.

No, I had to use another Mac and boot up my laptop with no fonts in FW Disk mode to copy them over.

Anyways, it worked, thanks!

If the problem is that the font files are missing/corrupted/deleted somehow, then Pacifist will help you reinstall them from the CD.

If the font files themselves are okay, then maybe deleting preference files and cache files related to fonts would help.

edit: whoops, didn't read the whole thread. sorry...

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
