Converting TIFF to JPEG in Preview with Apple Script?

How can I make an Apple Script that allows me to convert a TIF (or else) format image to JPEG in Preview? The most convenient way would be a droplet which I can move the image file(s) onto and then it converts the file(s) to JPEG. I don't have any Apple Script experience.
btw, search was unavailable by the time I wrote this, so, if there's a thread on that please just let me know and don't beat me for it…

If you look at the example scripts included with AppleScript there are some examples of image file conversion under the "Folder Action Scripts" examples (not the logical place you'd expect them, I know).
Alternately, you could download DropJPEG, which is a droplet that does exactly what you want -- converts all QT supported image types to jpeg. Great little program I can personally vouch for .. I use it for practically every image I post in these forums that are in non-jpeg or gif format.

Thanks for the link, but it unfortunately doesn't work with CMYK images. I'll check the folder actions.
